Supporting UK Farmers - Peppermint

Supporting UK Farmers - Peppermint

Our Peppermint goes WAY back, all the the way to 1875 in Mitcham, London, UK

Let’s talk about peppermint. Beyond smelling amazing and tasting great too, peppermint essential oil is one of the most versatile ingredients out there. You’ve probably got a small vial in your medicine cabinet, a box of peppermint tea in your cupboard and if you check the ingredients on some of your skincare products, you might find it there too (pssst! It’s in our Miracle Waters Face Wash).

But where does it come from and what are it’s actual benefits?

Peppermint - We source our peppermint locally from Mitcham, London, UK

Peppermint specifically, was indigenous to Mitcham, South London and supplied across the world but was lost, along with it’s healing benefits, during WW2 when only essential crops could be grown. But, it’s since made it’s come back to British farms and has been blessing us with its healing properties since 1875.

The peppermint found in our Miracle Waters Face Wash is grown in the lush acres of Surrey and is extremely potent, due to the slow and sustainable way in which it is farmed.

Meaning we are able to get more of its goodness and properties into our remedies.

So what are the benefits?

You’ve probably been told many times to put peppermint oil on insect bites, this is because peppermint is highly anti-inflammatory. We’ve incorporated it into our Miracle Waters Face Wash to target redness and breakouts, so if active breakouts are getting you down, Peppermint is for you.

Peppermint is also known for its soothing powers. If you find that your skin is feeling tight, irritated or looking redder than usual, try using 1-2 pumps of the Miracle Waters Face Wash. Massage it onto the face for at least one minute, then, instead of washing it straight off, leave it to sit on the skin for a while. Brush your teeth whilst the Miracle Waters works on your face and allow peppermint’s cooling effects to comfort your skin.

If you’re prone to breakouts, it is extremely important to prevent the spread of bacteria. Peppermint is anti-bacterial so is a good natural alternative for clearing acne and spots by reducing the amount of acne causing bacteria on the skin.

With all of these benefits we’re so happy that peppermint found its way back into the UK and that we are able to support UK farmers with the marvellous ingredient.
